My name is "King" Mufasa. Well, that is what my
foster mom calls me but somehow I kind of know I am only a
"king" in her eyes and in the eyes of all my rescue
"aunts and uncles."
She tells me that I am
beautiful bully breed but I know I am really not a
"bully" because everybody loves me and I love them.
Do not be shocked by my size because I am really only a big
puppy at nine months of age. And although my size is normal for my
breed , I am the product of careless backyard
"overbreeding" which cost all my disfigured siblings
their very life. I was the lucky one. I survived but not without a cost.
You see, my front leg is severely compromised. Actually all
my legs contribute to my lameness but my front leg, in particular
is so twisted causing me to literally trip over it when I try to
walk.This contributes to considerable pain not only physically but
also emotionally, as I am forced to sit on the sidelines while
other dogs my age and much older are able to run and play and
catch a ball.
My foster mom is a volunteer with a wonderful animal welfare and rescue group called Rsvp Inc. I was rescued from what began as a very neglectful, sad, and lonely life in a backyard. I was never allowed a warm home to share with a human family until RSVP Inc. intervened.
Rsvp Inc's community outreach volunteers have been taking me to a very special orthopedic hospital. The veterinarian doctors took a lot of X-rays of my legs and came up with a plan to fix my front leg so I can live a life like a normal, healthy puppy.
BUT THIS COSTS A LOT OF MONEY!!!
My doctors are going to insert screws, plates, and rods into my leg in order to build my strength. They tell me that I will become a "Bionic Puppy"!!! I will be able to run and play and even walk without limping and falling over my paw.
My foster mom told me that if I ask "pretty
please" that perhaps some generous, kind people would
donate the funds necessary to raise to make this happen.
My surgery is scheduled in December when my growth plate is completely closed.

RSVP Inc needs to raise about $6000 for the surgery, $1000
for a brace to support my leg and approximately $2000 - $3000
for rehabilitation.
No amount is too small. Every penny is appreciated.
