Cornerstone Fellowship of Mill Run hasn't added a story.
Hi, my name is Stephen Olivieri, and I'm the Pastor of Cornerstone Fellowship of Mill Run in Altoona, PA.
I wanted to ask you to consider helping out a great family, who is in real need of it today.
WHAT: Please consider helping Dave & His Family Rebuild Thier Way of Life.
Please Consider A Donation To Help Cover The Cost Of Rebuilding Dave's Auto Repair and Sales.
WHO:
A few years ago, Dave Eyer III opened up a brand new mechanic shop at 435 Weaver St. called, "Dave's Auto Repairs and Sales" . You see for Dave as well as the whole Eyer family, working on and selling cars is a way of life that has been past down from Dave's grandfather, to his father and now to him. The Eyer family have run a mechanic shop in the Mill Run section of Altoona for decades.
What Happened:
Tragedy struck before dawn on Thursday Aug. 25th as an accidental fire broke out as Dave was working on a gas tank. Dave and his friend tried to put out the blaze with fire extinguishers but within a few minutes the whole building was engulfed in flames. While everyone got out safely the building was a total loss.
The clean-up and rebuilding will take months. Dave and his family are determined to rebuild. While Dave did have insurance to cover the building, insurance doesn’t cover everything such as months and months worth of lost income.
Why Help Dave & His Family Rebuild?
For Dave, his mother, his sister Diane and their whole families, "Daves Auto Repair and Sales" was more than just the garage where they worked. It represented 3 generations worth of hard work, expertise and family tradition. It was and still is their pride and joy. They have poured their hearts and souls into this building and this business.
I can personally vouch to the fact that they treat each customer as if they we’re family. Dave has always treated me with kindness, integrity, prompt service and attention to detail. For Dave and his family, they have lost more than just a business, they have lost their way of life for the time being.
This is where the church, the community, along with friends and family need to step up and show compassion toward this family in whatever way we can.
