Who is Oxford Houses of Corpus Christi?

Oxford Houses of Corpus Christi are self-run, self-supporting homes for men and women recovering from alcoholism and drug addiction. We currently have 17 houses in Corpus Christi, and hope to open at least three more by the end of the year.

Many of our members have struggled with alcohol and drugs for most of their lives. After moving into our houses, many of these same people are achieving milestones in sobriety that they never had before. Some of our members have years of sobriety. Some only have a few weeks. Together, we share the common goal of making positive changes in our lives and achieving long-term recovery from alcoholism and addiction.

Why are we sending our members to the World Convention?

There are nearly 2,000 Oxford Houses worldwide, and together we form a supportive network (Oxford House Inc.) based on the principles of recovery, responsibilty, and replication. Once a year, houses from cities across the world send their members to meet for three days to share their experience, strength, and hope. This year, the Oxford House World Convention will be held in Washington, DC from September 3rd-6th.

The convention will feature workshops, guest speakers, and access to resources and information. Our members will be able to bring back what they learn, which will help build unity and strength for our houses here in Corpus Christi.
