Community Outreach & Harm Reduction Van – Feminist Mutual Aid Collective
Community Outreach & Harm Reduction Van – Feminist Mutual Aid Collective
The Feminist Mutual Aid Collective (FMAC) is a women-founded grassroots (reword suggest: grassroots collective founded by diverse queer women) collective in Toronto bringing mutual aid and harm reduction directly to our community throughout Parkdale, the Village, and Moss Park (and expanding into the GTA). We support women, queer folks, people who use substances, refugees, and people who are houseless or precariously housed.
This past winter we worked (mainly) on foot and in a small car (the few times we had access). It was exhausting, and winter supplies take up a lot of space. The vehicle we relied on (for all of our outreach needs throughout the past year) was damaged in a winter storm while we were out doing outreach. This has had a significant impact on our ability to distribute, and we want to mitigate that factor before winter 2026.
A van changes everything.
It allows us to carry more supplies safely, reach more people faster, and stay out longer without burning out.
It also creates a mobile space where people can warm up, be transported to hospital if needed, and access care in a way that actually meets them where they are.
The city is decimating services. We know community works faster than government. We are completely self and community funded. Every dollar goes directly into outreach.
Your donation will help us:
• Deliver harm reduction and survival supplies directly to
people who need them
• Support people living in housing insecurity or crisis
• Expand our mutual aid work and reach more of our community
• Build a safer, mobile space for care, transport, and support
Goal: $25,000 for a mobile outreach van (this will include insurance for the year as well as gas)
Every contribution matters. This is about keeping people alive, supported, and not abandoned.
Who We Are
Feminist Mutual Aid Collective (FMAC) is a radical, intersectional feminist collective doing on-the-ground outreach and political education in Toronto.
We focus on:
• Harm reduction and survival support
• Resource redistribution and access
• Advocacy and crisis response
• Protecting women and queer people facing the highest levels of
violence and neglect
We work multiple times a week across the city, in encampments and shelters, supporting people through extreme weather, crisis, and displacement.
We reject charity and nonprofit models that require working within a broken system. We are fully community funded and accountable to the people we support.
