September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month - a cause near to my heart after losing my older brother Julian, at the age of 5, to DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma), a terminal brain tumor and the deadliest of all pediatric cancers. Our family is an official Family Partner of the ChadTough Defeat DIPG Foundation which funds important research for better treatments and outcomes for kids with brain cancer.
Catholic Central will hold our first Gold Out for Childhood Cancer Awareness Community Night on Friday, Sept. 19, during our homecoming game v. East Grand Rapids. The student section is encouraged to wear all gold to honor kids who have fought cancer.
