Eastside Boxing Club is 2 blocks away from Main & Hastings (arguably the epicentre of Canada's mental health, drug and homeless crisis). This year more than ever, your support is needed to ensure the existing outreach programs at Eastside Boxing Club remain and those programs that had to be shelved can be brought back.
Please remember the event is so much bigger than one fighter, please give if you are able but sharing is equally valuable if not. I write much of the below in jest to entertain but there is a real seriousness to this cause. I'll be updating this page regularly with content (updates starting June 27th) and will be adding contribution highlights so please read on and check back regularly. You rock and I love you all 🫂
If every punch to my face, over
my life time thus far, put $25 into the kitty for this amazing
cause I'd have reach my goal without a single jab being thrown.
Expand that to include all those punches thrown that didn't
connect plus all those punches that weren't thrown but wanted to
be and I'd be building a whole new Eastside Boxing Club gym with
surround sound and golden toilets.

Founded in 2012, Aprons for Gloves Boxing Association is a non-profit organization focused on providing community outreach through the sport of boxing. Based in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, the organization was developed by a small group of professionals and entrepreneurs who seized an opportunity to re-establish a historic boxing program for at-risk women and youth. Through Eastside Boxing Club, the program offers free mentorship and training to individuals who may otherwise not have the resources or support to participate in such activities. Why boxing? Because it's a sport that teaches discipline, respect, hard work and self-control. Consistent training results in positive self-esteem, good mental and physical health and social support through peers.
Eastside Rumble 2023
Every year for Aprons for gloves, bartenders, chefs, dishwaters, servers, baristas and all sorts of individuals from the Vancouver community get together to train at Eastside Boxing Club to fight to support outreach projects in DTES. This year the name has been changed to Eastside Rumble to reflect our inclusion and invitation to all people, not just those who work in the hospitality sector.
In order to continue training, each contender is required to meet fundraising milestones along the way. Ultimately, raising $2000 for charity makes them eligible to compete at the Rumble.
