Mama's Against Mass Opioid Addiction was founded in May 2020 during the height of the pandemic. The mission of this organization is to reach out to those individuals that are struggling with substance abuse by first getting those living on the street into a stable home environment. Once off the street we will then take the necessary steps to finding the right treatment program for the individual as well as helping him/her get the credentials needed in order to enter into a program ( birth certificate, social security card, picture identification, some type of insurance)
Once he/she has been accepted into the treatment program, has completed the program there will be a phase 2 to our transitional housing that he/ she will come back to during which time he/she will seek employment or return to school, go to recovery meetings, maintain close contact with his/her sponsor. Then transitioning into his/her own place in society. There will be no time limit on this phase, there will also be follow up care visits once the individual has left the program.
These houses will be separated into men's, women's, and children's housing. Housing for the children is to keep children of substance abusers out of the foster care system, as well as women who are in active addiction and pregnant. These children will be placed into a safe stable environment in which once parents recover, they will be given supervised visitation until supervised visitation in no longer needed. This will be determined on a case-by-case basis, as in what is best for the child/children. Pregnant women will be given prenatal care, proper nutrition, and follow-up care after the baby is born.
