Lutwig has finally found a foster home in the UK and is ready to travel as soon as we gather the amount of money needed for his expenses.
Lutwig was found more than a year ago with an injured leg. After going through surgery and living in a cage for more than a year a family has been found to foster the beautiful and lovable dog Lutwig but money are needed for his expenses, including his travel fare.
Please help us help him!!!!
Even 1 euro will go a long way.
Lutwig's story: 18.01.2019 Come on guys. Lutwich is still
waiting more than a year now!!!
06.11.2018 Do you remember this beatiful boy that was abused and
had surgery on his front leg? Our boy one year later is doing
perfect but unfortunately is still waiting in a cage for a family to
give him love.
23.3.2018 Another victim of human cruelty looking for a forever home…
As I was driving to work one night, I nearly drove over
“something” in the middle of the road. Bear in mind that it was
pitch black outside and that particular road is sparsely used so the
lighting is minimal. I drove back to find this poor thing laying
there in a pool of blood, with his front legs seriously injured. I
tried approaching him but he was too scared and ran off into the
darkness. I looked around the area in hopes of finding him, but
after about 30’ of searching, I lost hope. Then I drove to work,
called our vet to be on stand by and sent a colleague of mine to
look for him with a torch and blankets. He wasn’t able to find him
either. The next morning, I stopped at the same spot just to check
again. As I was searching through the field, I heard a cry and then
spotted his head slightly raised underneath a tree, as if he wanted
to let me know that he was there... I was so shocked to see that he
was still alive and began the rescue efforts immediately... But, any
attempt to approach him, just scared him away, so I knew I couldn't
do it on my own and that time was running out... Our vet reached out
to someone he knew that could help me as he had all the necessary
equipment and experience.. Once we restarted our rescue efforts, we
found that the little guy had fallen into a deep burrow and although
I could not see him, I could hear him, so I talked to him trying to
comfort him, all the while worried sick he wasn’t going to make it
before help arrived. When the man finally showed up, he was also
worried as to how we were going to get to him as this burrow was
very deep.. He had me drive back to work and get saws and shears.
After an hour of cutting our way through, we finally saw the dog,
staring back at us with tired and weak eyes.. But being the fighter
he is, he stuck through it and realized that due to his weakened
state, he had no choice but to trust us.. Luckily, he still had
plenty of fight in him, and 15 hours later he was in the hands of
our vet team. The vets gave all they had trying to save his legs,
which were in very bad shape.. We honestly weren’t sure if he would
be able to walk again, or whether he would even survive the surgery,
but he did. And he's now is in the hands of a trainer and looking
for a forever home..
The only thing I’m sure of is that he
deserves a chance, because he is a fighter...!
The male intact 1.5 year old dog arrived at the clinic from a
village on the outskirts of nicosia with severe damages to both
front legs. The left front leg had a terrible open wound where most
of the radius bone was exposed, with no muscles or skin left on the
cranial side. Immediately the dog was put under anesthesia and the
surgery began. Firstly, we worked to clean the wound from all the
debris and tried to find healthy tissue to cover the bone with. We
managed to cover the bone with healthy tissue using sutures, and
then moved onto the right leg. This leg had a nasty dislocated
carpus without any open wounds, so we manually put it in place and
used a plastic cast to hold it in place. The left leg was also
placed in a plastic cast, which we opened after 2 days to view the
healing progress. The dog was placed under antibiotics and strong
painkillers, and the casts were periodically removed to assess the
healing progress. At this time, the left leg still has the suture
scars on it, and the right leg has some lingering swelling on the
carpus, at the location the dislocation occurred, but the dog is now
using both legs comfortably, walking fine and is full of joy.
Looking his foever home and will be given via pets2adopt
adoption package.
