*HELP RAYCHELLE BLESSINGS REGAIN HER FINGERS*
Raychelle Blessings, 6 years old girl has been through one of the toughest circumstances imaginable. As if being bullied at school was not enough, in February 2020, she was pushed into a burning liter pit by a class mate as they were out on a lunch break.
Her brother who was also a pupil at the same school had to run from the classes to the field to save his little sister by pulling her out of the burning liter pit, she had sustained acute burns of the upper limbs.
Her mother who was then suffering from systemic Lupus erythematosus with Lupus niphritis was stressed and fell into depression on seeing her daughter. She was also admitted and developed sepsis with servere respiratory disorders. Unfortunately she succumbed to death two weeks later on 9th March 2020.
We have been seeking treatment for Raychelle endlessly. We are already in debt from the expensive post burn contractures treatment and Lupus treatment of her deceased mother.
Raychelle has undergone six post burn surgeries to release the contractures. Unfortunately, her Lead Doctor, Dr. Ashraf E. Mara from Egypt passed on few weeks later due to COVID and this paralysed Raychelle's journey towards living a normal life.
The burns on her hands have left her right hand maimed, a hand that she hopes to depend on. It needs plastic surgery accompanied with keen neurology procedures to avoid her loosing her digits. This is scheduled for early December 2022 at Mediheal Hospital, Eldoret Kenya.
The estimated cost for this procedure is US$24,000, a figure that is way beyond her health insurance of only US$5, 600 dollars.
She has had to struggle with writing, being belittled and mocked at school and the community. This has prompted for her transfer to another school and also relocation of her family to new environment.
Raychelle walks whilst hiding her hands in her pockets or in gloves because dogs keep following her thinking she is carrying a piece of meat. Sadly, last month, a stray dog attacked her and bit her severely almost killing her.
She hopes to use her hands again in school and as a future mother while doing her house chores.
We look forward to your support in contributing towards Raychelles’ treatment. No amount is too small. Thank you 🙏🏾
