It seems a lifetime ago that we packed Bob’s gear in a friend’s car, and they drove across the country to train with the National Team squad preparing for the ’92 Olympics.  Through the hardships and some disappointments, what stands out were the friendships gained and valuable lessons learned along the way.  One being how the generosity of friends, family and sometimes even strangers makes a difference. Whether a tab picked up for a bag of groceries or for a meal out with teammates, those gestures of kindness made it feel like others were part of our journey.
