Dear Family and Friends,

In the fall of 2015, Natan Davids chose to uproot his life in Westchester, NY and make aliyah (move to Israel) and join the Israeli Defense Forces in 2015. He proudly served three years of service in a combat unit and has lived happily in Jerusalem ever since.

This past Saturday, he, along with 300,000 others, were called up to the reserves to defend Israel against the horrific terror attacks from Hamas. Currently based in the south of Israel, their unit is in dire need of supplies - they are short critical items like protective vests, helmets, gloves, and goggles.

A letter from Natan:

Hi to all of my extended family,

I am deployed in reserves right now, taking part in the effort to restore the security of Israel's southern region.

We were all caught by surprise on Saturday morning, and it is taking time to understand the scope of the attack and to begin to manage the situation. Despite the great shock to our nation, our military is still the most formidable force in the region, and we are confident in our ability to restore peace. We are prepared to work day and night, as long as it takes.

I am not very available at the moment, but your supportive messages and prayers are truly appreciated. Thank you.

We must keep our heads up high and strengthen each other. We have been through worse, and we will surely make it through these dark times together.
