Our sweet Siamon is super ill and in the vet! Si is a 3yr old lynx point Siamese who has FIV and FHS. We absolutely ADORE this guy. Unfortunately, last weekend I noticed he wasnt feeling well and was starting to sleep alot. During this same time he also stopped eating. I thought it would pass in a few days and he would be back to his energetic, fun self! That, however, was not the case and he continued to become more lethargic.
This morning we were able to get him worked in at the vet. So far he is getting ultrasound to check for blockages, new fiv test to make sure he actually Does have it since his last test showed pos/neg (found out he IS pos), iv fluids, appetite stimulant, nausea meds and meds for his elevated pancreas levels. Just THIS visit is $1400.
He is staying on iv's until they close at 530 and we get him home for the evening. Thats when the real test starts. IF he is not showing any progress by morning they want to move him to a hospital where he can get a feeding tube. Im looking at ANOTHER $2500.
Im praying that this is just some pancreatitis flare (which both me and my other cat deal with)....and that with the fluids, meds etc he will start to come back around. Without help I dont have any clue how im going to be able to get this much together and am trying to think what I can cut out of his treatment to lower the costs (horrible feeling).
For now im asking for $400 which gets me over the hump for what I need immediately. If you are able to help at all we would SO appreciate it. Siamon is worth every penny and a jillion more!
** UPDATES** Siamon came home and immediately went to eat! He continued to eat thru out the night and had to keep the iv catheter in his arm so that we could return the next day and use it if he was not better. This morning he ate again and so we were able to get the catheter out. Now, I owe $1,339.80 which I will be chipping away at paying off with my disability money. PLEASE HELP. Any small amount counts!
