Kimberly Ramirez hasn't added a story.
Hello, my name is Kimber Ramirez. I have been married to my soulmate, Todd Ramirez, for 23 years. We have been through a lot over the past years as Todd has a rare stomach disorder and various medical issues.
I love my husband with all my heart. He is a God-fearing Christian and father to 2 daughters, 1 son and 1 granddaughter. And fur Daddy to 2 rescue dogs and a rescued cat. He worked hard all his life to make the world a better place for us. Eventhough he is on disability now, he struggles with wanting to provide for and keep us safe. I am his caregiver, chaffeur and make sure he takes his 23+ pills a day as he cannot drive and has lapses in memory. He is the kind of man to help his neighbor and literally has given a stranger the coat off his back.
On March 21, our 18 year old daughter, Maggie, was spending time with a boyfriend in Kennesaw. Todd saw where a bad storm was coming in so he called her to come home, eventhough her curfew is later. Maggie was reluctant to come home and only decided to after he called a 2nd time. When she got home, she came into our bedroom and started arguing with her father about being an adult and not being told what to do. My husband started discussing ways in which she was not being an adult and acting childish with her actions and procrastinating with getting things done for college. Voices were raised. She stated whatever, rolled her eyes, went to her room, and locked the door. An argument took place in which both pushed each other. I heard this argument which took a total of 20 seconds and then she bolted from her room. I observed that she had no marks and was only upset about getting her cell phone back. Later, she called her boyfriend to come get her and told me she was staying with friends for a couple of nights.
My husband and Maggie have always been close and are a lot alike (see pictures below). They like to discuss and talk about their disagreements but are also headstrong and feel they are the one who is right.
After 2 days, my husband and I were surprised when 5 sheriff's officers came to our home to serve him with a Temporary Protective Order that Maggie had initiated. The order stated my husband had to leave the home until a hearing on April 18. Part of the TPO, I was ordered to turn over house keys, my car and garage door openers to my daughter. The house and car are both mine. Eventhough I am his caregiver and he is not well, he had to leave. I sent him to a friend with medical knowledge to take care of him. After the officers left, Maggie came in, packed her bags and left for a few days.
After a few days, my husband was informed that he was being served with 2 warrants, simple battery and assault (misdeameanors). Unknown to us, the charges were later upgraded to simple battery and aggravated assault (a felony). Aggravated assault for the simple fact that during the scuffle where both were pushing each other his hand came in contact wtih her neck. Later, my husband turned himself in thinking he would be released soon.
The 20 second argument between a caring father and a headstrong daughter has turned into a wife and mother's worst nightmare. My husband is being held at Cherokee County Adult Detention Center with a bond of $26,000. We do not have this kind of money as I am a government worker and the only one working in the home. My husband's disability has been approved but has not come in. I make ends meet by doing online assessment jobs here and there to pay for his medical bills. The bondsman wants $3900 but will take $1950 up front and make payments on the balance afterwards so I am here trying to get assistance for my husband.
I visited him yesterday. He looks very tired. The center is overcrowded and he is sleeping on a plastic mat on the cold floor. He states he cannot sleep. They will not give him almost half of his medications needed for his stomach disorder, osteoarthritis and PTSD (partly from being told he had 6 months to live in 2012). Todd needs to get out soon.
I am humbly asking for any donations big or small to free my husband so he can come home safely. The TPO expires on April 18th and he can come home then providd the bond is paid.
My daughter, Maggie, now has a change of heart and wants to do mediation with her father and states she never wanted to have him taken out of the home but only for him to take communication classes and to get his attention. Understand that Todd is a loving, caring father and he would never (and literally physically could never) hurt his daughter.
Please help us get him back home where he needs to be. God bless you!

Mikayla loves her Papa. From the day she was born, Todd has been sick but always makes time to be there for her and our children whether helping with a relationship crisis, car malfunction, advice on girls or boys, raising a spunky toddler, our faith, seeing Maggie in one of her many performances, etc. He is always there.
