Kira Leavens hasn't added a story.
On November 13, 2013, Nolan Timothy Lajiness, an amazing 21 year old young man, passed away in a car accident. The Lajiness family has impacted a huge number of people, and this is our opportunity to show them how much we care.
Losing a child and brother is heart shattering. The money we raise for the Lajiness family will help to provide them a cushion in their time of grief so that TIm and Kellie can take the time off work necessary to begin to process their enormous loss.
Please consider even a small donation to help this family make it through the holiday season. We all love the Lajiness family, and we all feel powerless to help. What a great way to show them we love and care about them!
Remember, every penny counts. Every donation shows love, thought, and care.
Please read a little more about Nolan (taken from the Monroe Evening News):
Nolan Timothy Lajiness, beloved son of Timothy J. Lajiness and Kellie M. Lajiness (Blanchett) of Newport, was tragically killed in a car accident on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013.
Nolan was a business major in the area of accounting at the University of Toledo. A 2010 graduate of St. Mary Catholic Central, Nolan was a member of the golf and cross country teams. He attended St. Charles Catholic Grade School, where he received the majority of his sacraments and served as an altar boy for the parish throughout his adolescence.
While commuting to UT, Nolan also held two jobs. He had worked for Tim Horton’s of Monroe for five years. He also worked for the Monroe County Community Credit Union as a teller and with the customer care call center. Nolan was very pleased and honored to work for these establishments.
Nolan will be deeply missed by his brother Bryce and sister Monique. Growing up in a close family environment, Nolan was loved and will be forever cherished by his grandparents, John (Jack) and Gail Lajiness of Newport and Howard and Dorothy Blanchett of Newport. In addition, Nolan’s memories will be treasured by several aunts and uncles, including Terrance Lajiness of Newport, Monsignor Todd Lajiness of Detroit, Edward and Diana Blanchett of Newport, Bill and Sally (Blanchett) Antaya of Rochester Hills, and Patrick Blanchett of Lansing. Nolan will also be remembered by his cousins, their spouses and children: Brett, Robert, Elaina and Susie Antaya, Ty and Nicole, Neil, Ryan and Cayla Blanchett and Tom and Mandy (Blanchett) Orlando, Phillip, Lori, Paul, Pam, Kelsey and Pete Blanchett as well as Matthew, Benjamin, Sophia and Anna Lajiness. Nolan’s life was also graced and supported by many great aunts and uncles and cousins hailing from Canada and the U.S. Nolan’s absence will be felt by his dear friend, Janessa Dyda, and many co-workers, high school and childhood friends, as well as many wonderful neighbors and teachers who had helped in forming Nolan into the kind young man he had become.
Nolan’s main hobby included working on his blue Mustang and assisting with the care of his friends’ and family’s cars, as well as installing fancy radios. Nolan was an avid Detroit Tigers and Red Wings fan and annually attended Cedar Point and air shows at the Yankee Air Museum. He was often found assisting his grandparents with projects big and small. Nolan enjoyed the companionship of the family pet, Missy, and looked forward to summer vacations spent in the northern Michigan.
