Anita Fioroni hasn't added a story.
In June, Sue VanEkeren was brought to Strathroy hospital by ambulance, for a swollen knee, since then, her life has changed drastically, as she is now a quadripoligic... She was found to have a life threatening MRSA infection, spread throughout her body, stemming from the neck. The infection attacked her whole body, settled in her lungs, and formed many abscesses everywhere. She has had numerous surgeries, ...one of which were preformed on a significant section of her neck and back, due to a pair of life threatening abscesses pressing on her spinal cord that had eaten away the bone. Since July 6th 2014, she has been classified as a quadriplegic, with very little movement from the shoulders down. She spent 10 weeks on life support in the Critical Care Trauma Unit in London Victoria Hospital, was transferred to Sarnia for a few weeks and is now at the Parkwood Rehabilitation Center in London. She has come a long way, doctors were not very hopeful of her getting off of life support in the beginning, due to the level of paralysis, and infection that had attacked and collapsed her lungs. She is strong, and CHOSE LIFE over death when given the option. She has now been breathing on her own, for two months, and is slowly regaining very little movement in her arms. She has a temporary discharge date of December 11th, her destination, yet to be determined, as she will require many weeks of rehab and shes just gotten started. We hope to someday bring her home, unfortunately, she has none of the medical equipment she requires to leave the hospital and the cost is upward of $20 000. We are hoping with help from our community, we will be able to help her achieve her dream of going back home some day. She is on the road to a long recovery and she needs as many healing hearts as she can get, please share her story and all your love, support and prayers to help her heal. ♥ LETS BUILD HER AN ARMY OF LOVE
