The former home of the Sisters of St. Joseph sat empty for five years and this winter was not kind to the building. The bitter cold buckled the wooden floors, requiring an emergency replacement in time for an art show and a wedding. Can you help us?

The former home of the Sisters of St. Joseph is coming back to life after sitting empty for five years. We are now restoring it to offer affordable housing, a concert hall in the former chapel, shared office space for non-profit agencies focused on health and social services, plus other community uses.

We will also restore the gardens, orchards and grounds to produce food for the residents and neighbours. We do all this as a way to carry on the legacy of the Sisters, who used to own the park-like 10 acres and 132,000 square feet of buidings but now live next door in a smaller setting. We have their blessing. We just need help to get the project running until we have tenants paying rent.

This winter, the bitter cold buckled the chapel floors, an expense we had not budgeted for. We had to fix them and they look beautiful, but we are left with an unexpected bill and don't want to slow down the other work required.

Every dollar contributed helps us to keep the momentum going.
