Tanks's Mom Asked for Help with Valley Fever Medication Price Increase
When Tank's mom inquired months ago about where she could find medications for Tank who has Valley Fever, we did some research. Unfortunately the costs had risen from about $20 a month to over $120 a month!
Because she is a single mother, this has been very difficult for her family finances. She has now come to the conclusion after much prayer that she must find a new home for him so that she can be assured he is taken care of medically. She provided all the information about what a good boy he was (she has had him since he was 10 weeks old), how nicely trained he is, well loved and a happy boy. This dog is her daughter's constant companion and she was going to be devastated to have to tell her they must give him up. She had no other choice.
We were thinking about this and we thought it would be a great opportunity to try to help her with funding to get her over a hump and closer to Tank being well again. Our goal would be to provide enough funding to maintain the medication for one full year. During that time they can save any monies needed if he needs further medications. This will keep TANK WITH THE FAMILY without worry she won't be able to afford the medication.
All we will ask her for is to PAY IT FORWARD in the future.
When I asked her about Tank this is the information she provided that tore my heart-strings. Tank is a boxer/lab mix. He was born December 4, 2010. I have had him since the age of 10 weeks. He sleeps indoors in a kennel at night. He is a very sweet boy. He has walked on his leash since he was 3 months old, he sits, stays, and lays down when asked. We don't have a dog door, but when I ask him if he needs to go potty, he comes to where I am and nudges me and will run to the back door in response. When he was just 11 months old he was diagnosed with Valley Fever. Because the medication has risen so much I can't afford to maintain it for him and with deep regret I ask if you can help me find a new home for him, one filled with love and that will take care of his needs. It is not an easy decision or one I make lightly. I only need to be assured that Tank gets what e needs, if even not with us.
So, with that, we are asking for help for Tank's family to KEEP Tank in their home. If you can make a donation to the funding, they will always be forever greatful!
