Lily Powell hasn't added a story.
My sweet Dottie was called home to the rainbow bridge way too soon. She was only about 8 months old. I rescued her from the Rowan County Animal Shelter in NC on November 23, 2013. When I got her she was covered in fleas and urine and she was so skiddish. I had the honor of loving her for about 5 months. Dottie loved going to Camp Bow Wow in Greensboro (when I could afford it) and playing with all her doggy friends. She was so smart. I told her she was going to be my smart baby out of all of my dogs. She already knew how to sit, lay, shake and fetch. Her favorite ball to fetch with was a orange rubber ball made by WestPaw. Dottie passed away on 4/06/14. She ate some gauze rope and it got wrapped in her intestines. My vet performed surgery and did all they could to help her, but unfortunatly the damage to her intestines was just too much and Dottie died the day after her surgery. The way she got ahold of the rope gauze was one of those freak accident type deals. :( I have these huge dog crates that all my dogs stay in while I am away. They are the solid plastic ones and have the grate opening only a little on the sides. I had left my other dog's old "cone" on top of the crate Dottie was in and the cone had the gauze rope that was used to hold the cone on still attached to it. My guess is that the end of the gauze was hanging over the edge of the crate and Dottie pulled it through. :'( I am beating myself up over it, I just can't help it. Dottie didn't deserve this. I will always love and miss her. She was my little Dot Dot! R. I. P. <3 Since Dottie had to have surgery I have quite a bit of a vet bill. I am asking for any help...even a $1 will help. Please donate if you can. I am already drowning in debt. Thank you.
