As you pull up a chair, you are invited to share the adventures of an ordinary family that has embarked on an endlessly delicious journey.

Swineheart’s Signature Sauces and Marinades emerged from a seemingly innocent start. In 2005 our kids gave Gavin a small vertical Brinkman® smoker for Father’s Day.

Thoughtful?  Yes.

Easy to use?  You know it.

Fun for the family?  More than anyone could have guessed!  

With that tiny smoker as a springboard, the Macdonald family became a KCBS Competition BBQ team known as “MacDaddy’s Rollin’ Smoke BBQ”.  Swineheart, the warrior pig in a kilt, is the creation of a family friend and represents our Scottish-German-All-American family heritage as our BBQ team mascot.

Competing around New England, we continue to meet so many wonderful people who are more than willing to “pull up a chair and take a taste”. As we gained experience, we started to cook outside the box and try to make our contest entries a little more our own, and what better way than through creating our own sauces and dry rubs?

We should have seen it coming.

The old adage, “be careful what you wish for,” should have been ringing in our ears!

Fast forward and here we are – eight years later and the Swineheart’s Signature Sauce line of BBQ sauces and marinades plus a dry spice blend are available in retail outlets around New England.  Retail Outlets in New England

As a family-owned business, all our sauces are made in small batches with careful attention to detail. We use only the highest quality ingredients and we don’t believe that good food really needs artificial ingredients, colors or flavors, or other things you can’t pronounce – so we don’t use them. All our products are also gluten-free and fat-free. They are simply delicious. Naturally. Being the lovers of good food that we are, we always tell people they should use Swineheart’s sauces “when taste matters, and taste ALWAYS matters!”

So why are we here on FundRazr?

Because we believe that life truly is, as Ruth Reichl observed, “endlessly delicious” and we want to share the regional flavors of American BBQ with lovers of food and flavor around the world, and what better way than to send Swineheart on a World Tour!  

American BBQ represents so many diverse cultures, flavors, techniques and philosophies that to enjoy them all you need to cook outside the box. Swineheart’s flavors capture the honey-sweet of Memphis BBQ, the vinegar tang of Carolina-style cooking, the heat of a peppery sauce from Texas and our very own flavor-meld that gives you sweet heat. We use all of these sauces in BBQ competitions (and yes, we DO win!   Here’s a picture of our first win in the 2011 BBQ season), but recognize that slow-smoked southern BBQ isn't always an option. That’s why we have come up with Swineheart’s Grill-less Recipes. No grill needed, use them anytime, year-round for quick, easy meals. Even if you can’t help us with “Swineheart’s World Tour”, we definitely hope you use these recipes as the starting line for your own delicious adventure!

With the money raised here, we hope to meet fans of delicious food on each stop of Swineheart’s World Tour!

Through Food Export Northeast, we have had the good fortune to connect with experts in the world of specialty food exporting and can see true potential. Your help can convert that potential into reality. There are many costs associated with exporting our sauce, including modifying the labels to meet the labeling requirements for each country, translating our message into the native languages of new Swineheart friends, and connecting with buyers and distributors - all while maintaining the high quality standards that we’ve already established.
