Sam-Luchia Walker hasn't added a story.
My son - Aiden is 3 in August. His mother informed me she was pregnant and I went to one scan with her in the early stages of pregnancy. We were on talking terms at the time, and when she informed me she planned to move in her boyfriend (of 1 month!) into her house - I suggested that maybe she should think longer term, and that I was concerned that she hardly knew him and concerned about the potential disruption to the baby's life if it didn't work out. She flipped her lid and cut me out completely until he was 18 months old (which incidentally coincided with the aforementioned boyfriend being dumped following repeated emotional domestic abuse). At this point we ascertained he was my child for sure through a DNA test.
Things were fine for a short while, with me going round frequently to cook them dinner and try to create the most 'normal' atmosphere we could. We agreed, originally, to avoid going down the child maintenance route, with me providing everything she asked for on demand within reason - high chair, clothing, shoes, nappies, laminate flooring for his room etc.
I noticed that she was getting 'dolled up' when I was going round, and after I made it clear that I was only there for Aiden, and wasn't interested in 'making a go of it' with her, as I was engaged, (now happily married with a little girl on the way!) she turned in an instant - contacting the CSA (they now take significantly less than she was getting originally, and voluntarily, from my pay each month) and cutting me out completely. We would Skype occasionally, but after a 2 week period without contact I got worried and went to the flat to make sure everything was Ok. Nobody was in as far as I could see, (she was actually hiding in the bedroom with him!) I returned the next day and saw my son in the window. I went into the block and knocked on the door. No answer. Looking through the letter box I see her taking him into her bedroom. I told her that I could see her, and didn't understand why she was doing it? She eventually let me in for 10 minutes as my son was calling out for me.
The next day I got a phone call from her - asking what days I had off the week after, so I could see Aiden. Elated at the thought of progress, I told her my availability.
3 days later I received a summons to court to defend myself against an 'anti-molestation order' with her citing excessive calls (which she was ignoring within that 2 week period,) and turning up without agreement. Also citing that she was scared despite no instances of violence. the hearing was booked for the one day I was at work between 9-5! I had only recently started in a new position, and was in my training, so was unable to get the time off.
A year has passed with me only seeing him on my wedding day, and by chance at my mothers house when she agreed to babysit at short notice before Christmas. This has resulted in my mother being almost cut out completely. She is only allowed to see him if I do not.
I don't get any legal aid, yet I am unable to afford a solicitor to represent me. I was instructed all inquiries should be directed to her solicitor (courtesy of legal aid, as she survives solely on state benefits and the maintainence I pay each month). I have made repeated requests at mediation, all of which have been ignored.
I just want to be the father my little lad deserves, but with a Wife,
and a beautiful baby girl due in September, I simply cannot afford it!
I repeatedly have requested to be put on the birth certificate,
Or a parental responsibility agreement - which has been ignored. The
money raised is to be used to obtain a court order to force this to happen.
