The Milton Canadian Champion and InsideHalton.com are joining the fundraising efforts for the Milton ReStore after vandal(s) stole a computer and graffitied a wall over the weekend.

The Habitat for Humanity store’s grand opening on Saturday was overshadowed when suspect(s) broke in overnight, damaging items and leaving the smug message ‘get an alarm’ spray-painted in red across a wall.

In the wake of the break-in, the Milton business community has joined together to raise funds for the Habitat for Humanity ReStore.

We’ve launched a campaign online (link here) to help in the effort with a goal of raising $1,000 for the ReStore.

“This is a senseless and terrible crime against a non-profit and we’re happy to be help by providing a simple and easy way for people to donate,” said the Champion’s director of advertising Katy Letourneau.

Robert Duvall of RDC Networks said earlier this week his company would donate a computer to replace the one stolen.

Troy Newton of Troy’s Diner has said he will also be giving $500 to the ReStore and challenged other businesses to do the same.

All proceeds of donations received through our campaign will go towards the Milton location.
