Hi…
My name is Zoe and I am a 1 ½ year old sweet and loving female bluenose pit. I have had a very challenging life so far and I am so lucky to have been rescued from the Stockton Shelter where I would have been euthanized if it weren’t for my saviors. Life before the shelter was pretty grim for me and I wasn’t in very good condition upon my arrival and unfortunately I have gotten very sick. I am very thankful to my rescuers who have even managed to find me a FOREVER HOME in Montana. They are even going to drive me there! I’m so excited to see snow. Here’s some more info from my foster momma.
I picked up Zoe from the Stockton Shelter on 3/25/14. She had been there one week. Her condition was absolutely appalling. She was extremely thin, had open cuts and wounds over a good portion of her body, and was absolutely filthy. She has clearly survived a horrific life. Zoe rides in the car great and loves to hang her head out the window. She was so appreciative of a warm, dry place to sleep and food and water in her tummy and gave out many appreciate hugs and kisses. She is amazingly sweet and loving with humans, but it appears that she was not socialized well with other animals (dogs or cats). She either spend a lot of time on the streets as a stray defending herself, or it is likely that she was made to fight. Either way, she has survived her life to date, as well as the Stockton Shelter. Through an amazing network of people (X-Mutts, etc), we have located a FOREVER HOME for Miss Zoe. We plan to escort her to Montana next week. While this is very exciting news, after taking her to the vet and finding her to heartworm and parvo free, Zoe is now battling a pretty severe bronchial pneumonia infection secondary to her original diagnosis of kennel cough. She has lost over 3 pounds in the last 4 days and has gotten extremely lethargic and is not eating well. I have been working with Sierra Vet Clinic and Dr. Goulet who have been absolutely phenomenal. As you can imagine Zoe’s medical care costs have increased exponentially even with Sierra Vet donating some labs and discounting medicine. Additionally, we are going to make a 3,000 mile round trip to get her to Montana.
If you are able to help with a donation (of any size, big or small, every $$$ will be put towards the vet/travel bills, every $$$ counts) to assist with getting a healthy Miss Zoe to her forever home in Montana, Miss zoe (and us) would be eternally grateful,
Thank you guardian angels!!!!
