In October '12, I had open heart surgery. This wasn't a choice I was given, I had no choice - I had to have the surgery, or I wouldn't see 30 As my heart was starting to show signs of early heart failure (enlarged chambers, missing septum, shunts etc). the surgery itself was OK, they decided as I'm young that they would do the operation horizontally rather than vertically, so it wasn't as visible without me removing my clothes. They never told me that this would also ruin my breasts. Or the fact it would leave me with dresslers syndrome (inflamation of the pericardium) resulting in numerous weeks in hospitals over the past year as my heart became restricted.

Since the Op, my breasts have lost all muscle tone. I guess being cut through with a scalpel and flicked over my shoulder to get to my ribcage doesn't really help. The past year I have worked my arse off at the gym to try and regain some strength back into my breast muscles but no such luck; I've gone from a D to a B as there is no fullness now the muscles are destroyed and I live in bras. My self confidence has hit rock bottom, I won't even take my child swimming as I'm so embarrassed.

Today at I went to my GP, she assesed me, and stated that physically and mentally this has ruined me. This afternoon they called a meeting to discuss me, and all Gps were in agreement that I needed this done, physically my breasts are ruined from an op they had conducted, mentally I was ruined for being left this way. However, I received a phone call late afternoon, telling me how much they were in agreement that I needed this, but they couldn't agree with the breast implantation surgery as my reasoning for needing it didn't fit in the "budget"... in other worods it wasn't a good enough reason on paper for them to pay for it. For a disaster they have caused. So, here I am, my last resort, begging people to help me. I'm a lone parent, with a home and a child to look after. I can't even afford new clothes for myself let alone this operation. But, if you could help, It would change my life. I need to raise £4000 BUT if I can raise £3000 I can pay the rest personally on a payment plan. If everyone could donate £1 and share my story, maybe one day soon my life will become positive and I'll be happy with myself again, but atm, there are times I wish I never had my heart surgery, it has ruined my life, and my body.
