Brian is a rescued capuchin monkey who lives at a little sanctuary for unwanted and mistreated exotic animals. Having lived at the sanctuary for over 17 years, at the age of 23 Brian has just had his most eventful year ever. Some time ago, Brian developed cataracts. This condition caused Brian to lose his sight. In early 2013, Brian lost his companion Bea. The urgency to get Brains eyes operated on was increased as being blind meant introducing him to new companions would be extremely difficult. In August 2013, a team of vets stepped in to help Brian. Thanks to Peter and staff from Eye vet referrals in Cheshire and Jess From Shires vets in Stone, on the 6th August Brian was given his sight back. He even became a TV star, being filmed for channel 5s Ben Fogles Animal Clinic. The operation was a big success, funded by generous members of the public and just a few weeks late, Brian was introduced to his new buddies, Toto and Bim. Brian’s lack of sight had mean that renovating his house or even moving things around, could not be done. Primates in captivity need primate companions , lots of space and things to do. Now that the trio are settled and Brian can see again, we have the mammoth task of fundraising to construct a new enclosure for the boys. We have limited space but with the funds, can build the lads a slightly larger, much nicer home than their current elderly enclosure. Can you help? donating just £1 can help us on our way. Many thanks, From Brian and the boys.
