This year it will be very difficult for me to enjoy the holidays. As a descendant of genocide survivors (both sides of my family)the miracle that I was even born is overshadowed by the heinous acts being committed against my Armenian brothers and sisters in Syria today.
So many have lost everything ,including family members & can't afford to escape. They are under sniper watch in their own neighborhoods, stuck inside for months now watching their schools, churches and old age homes be set on fire as the rebels chant "Allah Akbar".

I know this to be true because I saw the latest video of our old age home burning on YouTube on November 29.
Many organizations have stepped in and collected funds to send to Syria but no one was willing to provide a plane or purchase plane tickets. On October the 20th, I took the matter into my own hands and started my own fundraiser via the FundRazr App through Facebook.
As the weeks have gone by, my list of people has grown: The Karagozians are safe for now in Lebanon, the Barsoumians and the Merdkhanians have safely reached Armenia thanks to this effort & I am almost ready to get the Kehyeian boys out but I need help for at least two more families right now.
In their desperation, the Minassians have asked if I can just take their girls for now and get them to safety to Armenia. This plea from parents trying to save the children first sends chills up my spine. I have read about mothers doing this in 1915 during the first genocide of the 20th century perpetrated by the Turkish government against the Armenian people. I never thought I would ever be the recipient of a similar message from an Armenian parent. Please help me get the Panos, Minassian & Kehyeian families safely to their homeland, to Armenia.
