The Shreveport Dog Park Alliance is a group of volunteers driven to reach the goal of attaining $150,000 to start a regional dog park in Marie & Charles Hamel Memorial Park on the southern end of Clyde Fant Parkway on the riverside. Through our community fundraisers, we have started towards our goal and need your help. This is just the beginning but will allow us to open the park with a fence to separate the large and small dog sides. It's our mission to make the Northwest Louisiana community a more “animal friendly” place by creating a regional dog park/event venue, to enhance the lives of the people and their pets. The Alliance will assist others in the community to make neighborhood dog parks or leash free areas. The Alliance is also an advocate for other animal groups in our community. The Shreveport Dog Park Alliance was started by a group of dog lovers who believe that a better Shreveport means amenities for dog owners. In December 2010, the group decided to join with ABetterShreveport and form a Dog Park Alliance Committee. The Committee's members are both ABetterShreveport members, and other community leaders. Let's show our city that we as citizens want the Shreveport Dog Park! Visit our Website at www.ShreveportDogPark.org
