The Capital City Condors family of hockey teams provide an opportunity for male and female children, youth, and dependent adults to play our nation's favourite sport!

We strive to keep registration fees as low as possible as most families with special needs children already carry an extra financial load. Ice is expensive though and there are also insurance and administrative costs to pay, and we offer financial assistance to families in need.

The Condors are not subsidized at all and rely on registration fees, fundraising, and the generosity of our community for support. It is our dream and our goal to see special hockey in every town and city across Canada! Right now though, we have grown to a pivotal point at which we must either continue on towards making this dream come true or face down-sizing.

When we started this team 7 years ago with just 3 players, we had no idea the impact this team would have on us, personally (we don't have special needs kids of our own), on the players, their families, and on our community. We have been so blessed to see the Condors teams become a tight-knit family. We have been forever changed, the players are our heroes and their parents are rock stars to us! Our volunteers are constantly humbled and amazed by the impact working with these players has on them and we even have waiting lists of volunteers! The families have seen development in their children not only as skaters and hockey players, but on a personal level as well. The players feel a sense of belonging, some for the first time. They feel accepted, safe, and equal. They learn and develop new skills, they learn team-work, and they develop friendships. It is amazing to hear them talk about "their" hockey team to others or to see them score a goal for the very first time and be celebrated bythe opposing team as much as by their own, or to see the entire team skate over to help a fallen player up. Our program is about so much more than hockey!

So we humbly ask that you please consider helping us bring hockey to some of our most valuable citizens in Ottawa and in communities all across Canada!
