On August 19th I was teaching the first day of school. I received a text message from the new daycare provider around 3:30 p.m. saying that Kamden was "lethargic." I wasn't sure what exactly this meant but was out the door and in tears as I didn't know what to expect once I walked into the doors of the daycare.  When I arrived, Kamden wasn't responding to me at all. I said his name over and over.  I was in complete shock and rushed him to the ER. He was flown by helicopter later that day to Wesley Medical Center because we begged the Great Bend Hospital doctor to let him go there. After countless explanations of why he wasn't responding and continued to sleep we were finally told that he had Shaken Baby Syndrome. I couldn't believe it.  We were in complete shock and devastated that someone that we thought we could trust instead harmed our precious little boy. How could anyone hurt his precious, innocent body?

I quit my teaching job to make sure that Kamden was being watched carefully as he now has seizures that started when he was injured. As a family we have went through so much and we still continue to fight for Kamden's justice.  I want him to know that we did anything and everything possible to make sure that the person that harmed him was held accountable for their actions.

With only one income to live on and medical debt and bill debt piling up we are asking for help. I want Kamden's story to be spread out around the world to prevent further Shaken baby syndrome occuring to these innocent babies.  It breaks my heart to know that 1 in 4 babies survive from Shaken Baby Syndrome and Kamden was one of the lucky ones. We will never be more grateful for our children after experiencing what we have.
