“Friendships aren’t perfect and yet they are very precious. For me, not expecting perfection in everything I do makes life much easier to deal with when puny human frailties overtake me. I look up to the stars. Not the ones on TV, but up to God’s stars. They certainly put things in perspective. I don’t know why I cry sometimes or why I sigh sometimes, but this I know: We don’t have to be perfect to be a blessing. We are asked only to be real, trusting and honest.”

Many of you like me may not have known George wrote a column entitled The Voice of Reason for his Dialysis center monthly newsletter “As the Pump Turns… ” I’ve had the pleasure of reading through them (they will all be available soon) the past few days and I wanted to share that part from the February 2010 column because it stood out me. I believe it captures one of the many amazing things that made him special.
George gave and invested in people. He believed in building and cultivating relationships. He touched so many lives and understood value of a smiling face and helping hand. George passed away this past Saturday unexpectedly and the family did not have time to financially prepare. I have set up a FundRazr account through Paypal to accept donations to help offset the cost of a proper burial. Please take a moment to give if you can but also to share a memory or upload a picture.
