My Mom, Vicki, recently lost one of her beloved Greyhounds, Lucky, to a terrible, aggressive disease called Osteosarcoma -- bone cancer. And now it's struck again. Only two months after losing Lucky, barely enough time to mourn, her girl Sadie was diagnosed with the same monster. My Mom has remained strong, but I can't even begin to imagine how confused, betrayed, and hurt she feels.

Sadie is only 7 years old -- she's a super sweet girl and wants nothing more to be loved (except maybe some belly rubs!). Sadie had a very short-lived racing career. In her very first race, Sadie decided to turn around and run the wrong way! Needless to say, no one thought she had much of a racing career ahead of her so she was put up for adoption. Already having adopted Lucky recently, my mom didn't want to admit that she was adopting again, so instead she "fostered." Much like my Mom, when we "foster," we're actually adopting :) Sadie has been with my Mom for approx. 4 years now. She's proven to be an amazing sister, cousin and an emotional comfort in both good times and bad.

With surgery, she can have more time on this earth. Unfortunately, it's not a cheap procedure and the follow up chemotherapy and rehabilitation only add to the costs. I'm hoping that with your help, we can show my Mom the same love and support that she's given to so many animals over the years and give Sadie the time on this earth that she deserves. For those of you that don't know my Mom, she has always considered animals more than just pets or creatures to be used and discarded. Her efforts to fundraise, promote animal awareness and her compassion are something to be respected. I'm extremely thankful to her for passing those same qualities along to me.

Thank you and keep Sadie in your prayers!
