Hugo Gallardo Petatan (A#200-299-394) was the victim of physical torture, permanent scarring, and death threats in Mexico as a teenager for being gay. He fled to the U.S. seven years ago and now he is being held in the Calhoun County Detention Center in Michigan where he has been detained for the last 18 months for a minor charge. He is pleading for asylum so he can stay here and live with his U.S. citizen partner. He is now awaiting the decision on asylum which will be announced on 4/26/13. He has a chronic medical condition that is a result of the injuries sustained during the torture. HE HAS BEEN DENIED MEDICAL TREATMENT FOR IT FOR OVER A MONTH NOW. Please help with any amount you can so we can help him keep fighting. Indefinite detention is cruel and inhumane!
