The Osprey Camera is one of our most powerful tools to learn about wildlife in the park and to stay in touch with that beauty from our homes, desks, and mobile phones.
Thank you for your support of this project and of Island Beach State Park!

Check back in throughout the season to see the osprey arrive, rebuild their nest, lay up to four eggs, watch the eggs hatch, watch the adults feed their chicks and, if everything goes well, and watch the juveniles take their first flight. We’ll be following every step of the way and make sure to share the highlights!

The camera setup this year was challenging. Over the last few months the FOIBSP have replaced the backbone of the camera setup. Our technical wizards and the Seaside Park and Seaside Heights Fire Departments have been up the camera pole 10 times this spring. (Each time technical work is done the fire engine comes into the park and raises the technician in the lift). We installed a new camera, only to find that it was defective.

Your continued support will allow us to maintain and improve the camera throughout the year. Inevitably on the barrier island salt, wind, and storms will take their toll. In order to show our gratitude for your support …
