New Rochelle Humane Society joins the National #GivingTuesday
Movement to Encourage Spending with a Purpose.
We have joined #GivingTuesday, a first of its kind effort that
will harness the collective power of a unique blend of
partners-charities, families, businesses and individuals-to transform
how people think about, talk about and participate in the giving
season. Coinciding with the Thanksgiving Holiday and the kickoff of
the holiday shopping season, #GivingTuesday will inspire people to
take collaborative action to improve their local communities, give
back in better, smarter ways to the charities and causes they support
and help create a better world.
Taking place December 2, 2014 - the Tuesday after Thanksgiving
- #GivingTuesday will harness the power of social media to create a
national moment around the holidays dedicated to giving, similar to
how Black Friday and Cyber Monday have become days that are, today,
synonymous with holiday shopping.
So let's get the ball rolling! Follow our simple steps below to spread the #GivingTuesday message!
Make a life-saving donation to the New Rochelle Humane Society.
- Take a photo. Bonus points if you can get Fluffy in on the fun!
- Post your selfie to all your favorite social media platforms.
- Include #NewRochelleHumaneselfie and our website www.newrochellehumanesociety.org
- Challenge three of your friends to give to the New Rochelle Humane by tagging them in your post.

#GivingTuesday donations will support our Silver Whiskers program
Unfortunately we have seen a surge in the number of senior pets arriving at the shelter. Many are hard to place, because perspective adopters are concerned with the cost of medical care for these older pets.The Silver Whiskers program matches senior pets and other animals with medical issues with viable adopters. Pets in this program are offered basic supportive medical care through New Rochelle Humane Society, while they live out their lives in new adoptive homes. -
