On the 25th April 2014 I will be cycling from Sainte Foy in the French Alps to Weymouth in Dorset, totalling a massive 1094 kms. The plan is to go from Sainte Foy to Cherbourg, catch a ferry across the Channel and then cycle from Poole to Weymouth.  I will be doing this with the support of my colleagues and employers at Premiere Neige, who will be generously providing a support vehicle and ongoing support for the trip. Anyone who knows me will understand this is a big challenge for me and more importantly the reason behind it - Mitchel's future... So, please get behind me and give as much as you can for this little lad's future.  He really does deserve all of our support.

Below, is a brief outline of Mitchel's story.

The Mitchel Harvey Development Fund
This fund was set up in 2002 to help a little boy who had been born 13 weeks' prematurely in January 2000. He suffered a grade 4 brain haemorrhage at birth, which resulted in him developing Hydrocephalus, Cerebral Palsy and later on at the age of three, Epilepsy.

Mitchel is now 14 and doing well, despite his disabilities. He has no use of his right arm or hand and cannot walk, therefore using a powered wheelchair to get around. He attends a special needs school and is a very sociable, happy, friendly lad but has been through more pain and suffering than most of us will in a lifetime, including a major hip operation in 2010, with more operations planned for the future.  Mitchel’s needs are becoming more challenging as he gets older and bigger. In the past, the fund has helped towards buying specialist equipment including walking frames, trikes and educational aids, also Brainwave therapy, adaptive clothing, ‘horseriding for the disabled’ sessions, a wheelchair accessible vehicle and home/garden renovations and adaptions.

Any funds raised will be put towards meeting Mitchel’s ever growing physical, educational and therapeutic needs. Part of the fundraising will go to the Dreams Come True charity who have helped to fund a once in a lifetime holiday to Disneyland for Mitchel and Dad. Mitchel's sister and Mum are funding their own tickets.

Any money I raise will go to Mitchel's future development and care.

I feel very strongly about Mitchel's future and the care he will require.

Thanks so much for your interest and future support.
