Cooper the Corgi needs help!
A new month... a new client! Meet Cooper! This extremely photogenic little guy recently tore his ACL and needs help paying the bill. Cooper is not only cute, he's got quite a talent for singing as well. Corgi Mom Lacy explains:
"I just moved to the Twin Cities 3 months ago, and am still getting back on my feet. Cooper has been a source of strength and comfort for me over the past year, and he helped me deal with various family and career upsets that ultimately led to me starting my life over. I would do anything for him, but the timing of this vet bill and our recent move is rather unfortunate. If I could receive any assistance to help pay off his surgery, I would really appreciate it.
Cooper is 2 years old. He tore his ACL about 3 weeks ago while at the dog park. He’s a corgi but I’m not sure he knows that. He was chasing and trying to keep up with the border collies, and that is how he injured himself. The past 3 weeks of rest and confinement have been difficult because he is such an active and energetic little guy. I can’t wait for his surgery and recovery to be over so I can have my hiking buddy back.
Cooper loves Adele. He has a few YouTube videos of him singing along with Adele. He has rather eclectic taste and will sing along with the Menards commercial, Stanley Steamer Carpet Cleaner commercial, Crazy by Gnarles Barkley, Mumford and Sons and some oldies like Mr. Sandman. I have no idea why he howls to some music but not others – I’m guessing there is some pitch or note that sets him off but Adele is definitely his biggest trigger.
He’s a great hiking buddy. Last summer I was up in the boundary waters and he was able to keep up on our 10 mile hikes. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a dog smile so much. Jumping over fallen trees racing to the top of hills… he was definitely in his element.
He also has no idea he’s only 25 pounds. His best friends are labs and pit bulls. He loves to wrestle and horse around with anything double his size. If a dog around his size or smaller tries to play with him he just looks confused like “Why would I play with you? You’re little.”
He enjoys agility and basically any activity where treats magically fall from the sky while running around. He dislikes being picked up, sitting still for more than 10 minutes and being brushed.
I got him 2 years ago from a family who breeds 1 litter a year. There were only 2 puppies in the litter and they didn’t have their tails docked because the family was camping when they were born and they weren’t able to get to a vet in time to dock the tails. So I have a tailed Pembroke. I originally wanted to get his brother, not Cooper. But then Cooper crawled right into my lap, licked my face and then leapt away and started biting and tugging on his mom’s tail – I knew then he was the rambunctious puppy for me."
