Students Helping Children Across Borders hasn't added a story.
Working for Worcester is a 501(c)3 community non-profit founded from
a dorm room by Holy Cross Men's Ice Hockey players in the fall of
2012.
The organization implements an annual spring service day to
renovate recreation spaces across the city of Worcester, promoting
better health, recreation and wellness for the city's kids and
families.
So far, through three annual service days, the project has
mobilized 2,500+ college student and local volunteers to make roughly
$500,000 in renovations to 50+ community sites that serve kids.
Projects have included building playgrounds at schools and family
homeless shelters, dance studios at youth centers as well as
basketball courts and community gardens at various city parks. The
organization is run by volunteer college students from more than a
half-dozen area universities, and is proud to partner with local
corporations, city government, and citizen groups to empower kids and
families through better recreation infrastructure and wellness
opportunities.
This year's project team at Holy Cross has officially kicked
off W4W Year 4. To contribute to Working for Worcester's 2015-2016
campaign, donate here! Visit us at www.workingforworcester.com to learn more!
