“Pilots N Paws Canada” need your help to keep the Fur Flying? All donated funds will go directly to animal transport fuel costs and could mean the difference between life and death for some of these animals

So many animals need rescue help in Canada every day so where does one start to help?

12 pitbulls and Mom Ottawa to Edmonton

At Pilots N Paws Canada we started by working with various rescues across Canada to coordinate and transport animals who otherwise would have little hope of rescue.

We work with volunteer pilots with their own private aircraft to transport animals the shortest amount of time and with as little stress as possible - so much easier on them than hours and hours of a ground transport or in the cargo belly of a commercial plane.

Pick up of several dogs from James Bay region We have flown lopped ear bunnies, chinchillas, ferrets, ducks, Snowy owls, Barred Owls, Great Grey Owls, 14 lb snapping turtles needing emergency surgery, cats with special medical needs, injured dogs, and many puppies from remote communities.

In every province, shelters and rescue groups are regularly in touch with us daily for our helpMontreal to Sept Iles 16 - puppies and Mom Needing SurgerySometimes the route is from a city to city within the same province, sometimes it is from a city in one province to another and sometimes the pilots fly in and out of remote northern communities to save dogs that would otherwise have no future at all.

And these flights are free to the rescues and shelters of Canada who couldn't afford air transportation with their small budgets.  It is our way to provide support to them in a real way and make a broader region available for finding homes for their animals.

How do we do it?

Up to this point, our wonderful volunteer pilots have donated the costs associated with the flights themselves. At $150-$250/hour, that becomes very expensive. A trip from southern Ontario to Moosonee can cost as much as $1500.

In 2014 alone, pilots donated over $45,000 in fuel costs alone.

Help Us Open Up Those Regions to Get Free Flights

We do have trouble getting some of these flights taken on due to the distances and remoteness of the locations so we need to provide greater assistance to the pilots with these extra costs if we are going to get help in those regions where it is needed.

Pilots N Paws Canada has created a “Fuel Fund” in order to enable more volunteer pilots to take on the tougher transports - the ones we call extraordinary flights.

Everyone wins when they take these flights on - Rescues win by not having to pay for the flights, animals get more options for help with adoption, medical care and rehabilitation options if needed.  And the pilots get to do what they love which is flying.  They call it "flying with a purpose".

Most animals relax with the hum of the small plane and the pilot so near.

Can you donate to these Extraordinary Flights?

Please donate today. All donated funds will go directly to animal transport fuel costs and could mean the difference between life and death for some of these animals.  Thank you.
