We are a D-I-Y bicycle repair and recyclery serving the community of Barrie, ON. We need money to acquire a cargo trailer to bring a mobile bike repair shop to schools, community centres and events. We also need to keep our downtown shop open.

We are a registered non-profit, Do-It-Yourself bicycle repair shop and recyclery serving the community of Barrie, Ontario. We need money to acquire a cargo trailer to bring a mobile bike repair shop to schools, community centres and events.

We also need to keep our downtown shop open to provide all community members with affordable, healthy transit.

We provide a shop, tools and advice on bike repair and charge a pay-what-you-can rate.

We accept used bikes and parts, diverting them from landfills.

We give bikes to people in need and sell some refurbished bikes to help pay the bills.

Originally as lunchtime drop-in program at Barrie Central Collegiate High School, Firebird received the City of Barrie’s Active Transportation Award and was awarded funding from the World Wildlife Fund.

In 2011, Firebird Community Cycle was incorporated as a non-profit and in June 2013, we opened our shop in a repurposed shipping container. We are located at 28 Toronto Street in Barrie at the corner of Simcoe Street, across from Unity Market
