Deondra Martin is a 14 year old track athlete who has competed in three events (400,800 meter dash and 4x400 meter relay) and qualified in all three events to go to the National Junior Olympics being held in Houston Texas July 26, 2012 through August 4, 2012. We are asking for the care and support of everyone to help with the expenses associated with this trip (transportation, lodging, food, registration fees, etc.). Here is a little insight on Deondra Martin: Deondra started her athletic debut in 2007 at the tender age of 9 when she played the position of D-Line tackle and Nose Guard for the Pop Warner little league team North Philly Aztecs, Deondra was unstoppable on the football field, she played for one season and then gave up her cleats for spikes. In 2008 Deondra was introduced into the track world where she joined Morrris Estate Girls Athletic track team, during her first season on the team Deondra competed in Brooklyn, NY. in the Colgate Women Games where she went on to compete in the finals held at Madison Square Garden in which she placed 4th overall in the 400 meter dash and received a trophy. She didn't stop there though Deondra then went on to compete in the outdoor season in 2009 where she qualified in the (200,400 meter dash, and 4x400 meter relay) for the Junior Olympics which were being held in Des Moines, Iowa. In 2010 Deondra became a member of the Mt. Airy Track Club still countinuing to do what she loved the most (run track). In 2011 Deondra competed and made it to the Junior Olympics again this time for the 4x400 and 4x800 meter relays which were being held in New Orleans, Louisianna. Due to an injury Deondra had to sit out for a while after New Orleans. We are now in 2012 and Deondra has competed and qualified for the Junior Olympics once again and is going to Houston. We need your help in making this trip a reality for Deondra, we can not do this without the support from all of you. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated with the help of getting Deondra one step closer to the continuation of her track and field career goals. We thank you in advance for your care and support.
