Marla was found in an old lady's garden in Larnaca, Cyprus. Friends of Larnaca Cats were asked to take her into our care because she was not coping, not looking after herself and very, very frightened at everything. She was taken into a foster home where she has been lovingly socialised and her infected eyes treated.
Sadly at the start of her fostering she was too afraid for a vet to examine her eyes fully and it was not possible to treat her eyes regularly until she could be handled without her becoming petrified and thrashing out and scratching everything that she didn't recognise.
Marla is now socialised and can be cuddled, examined and treated. It has now become apparent that she has no eyes and probably had nine since birth. The eye sockets are so badly infected and sore that the only thing that can be done is to enucleate or remove her eyes and close them permanently. The operation can be done as soon as we have raised the €150 that is will cost, making her more comfortable and healthy. Please will you help us pay for the operation?
