Exciting new things are happening at the doghouse! We have the approval to go ahead with construction!!
We will be framing in the carport to create more room, but not for more dogs, but for CATS!!! It will house some of our medical cat cases. As many of you know while we search for a permanent facility we greatly need more space, especially for our medical cases. ( If you know of a building that would be or could be donated for a permanent space please let us know)
This is our to do list...
Carport is 3 sided. It has a cement floor and is a 2 car enclosure. It will be divided into 2 rooms with Cage Banks or Towers.
We need to frame in the front for the windows and then cut out a spot and install an exterior door. We have windows donated for the front and a wonderful door on the side! We will remove the existing siding off the interior wall and reuse it on the front of the new wall.
On the inside the 1st window will become a door into the house. The other window will be closed off. The 3 exterior walls will need to insulated and drywalled. And an additional layer of insulation will need to be laid in the attic. Then painted of course.
Flooring would be fantastic but not easy to clean as sealed cement. So we will need seal any cracks and paint the floor.
Finally, we need an HVAC person to run vents from the furnace. The unit is just above the carport for an easy job!
We have a small grant but we need your help! If not monetarily, your time!! We are in need of...
First and foremost, a pressure washer to clean it!
