Charlie's Story

Charlie was diagnosed with an ugly, aggressive cancer last week that I cannot yet spell or pronounce. Charlie will have his front, left leg removed to save his life, and rid his body of the cancer. Canine amputations are expensive, costing about $5,000.00. Ironically, I was laid off from my job on August 8th. I am currently unemployed.

The surgery will take place as soon as we test to be sure it hasn't spread. This will be done with a chest x-ray and checking a few lymph nodes. Once we determine Charlie is otherwise healthy, the surgery will be scheduled. I am shooting for the week of September 22nd. This is all happening very quickly, but I need to act FAST to prevent the cancer from spreading.

Charlie had a "wart" removed from his paw on August 25th and the Doctor was not able to get clean margins. The fact that the biopsy came back as cancerous is quite a shock to everyone, including the vet.

I am having a garage sale 9/12 & 9/13 to raise money for Charlie.

As more information becomes available, I will provide updates.

Thank you for reading Charlie's story. He has touched many lives!
