Would you be prepared emotionally or financially if you were diagnosed with cancer today?  I know I wouldn’t be.  Being diagnosed with cancer changes a person’s life instantly.  Your daily routine takes a back burner to this news.  Your emotions are high especially that of denial - you were basically in good health, how could you have cancer???  You are angry, confused, scared.  Then you realize you have to focus on getting better.  You have to find the right doctor.  Once you find a doctor, you have numerous office visits until you get a plan in place to treat the cancer.  Once treatment starts, you turn your attention back to everyday life and realize you are no longer able to work. What will you do?

A cancer diagnosis can affect a family’s finances in the many ways, such as:

  • Lost wages for the cancer patient because they are not able to work through treatment and lost wages for the primary caregiver;
  • Travel costs to and from local treatments, and for going out of town to see specialists;
  • Special dietary needs, plus the numerous medications needed to help with the side effects of the chemo.

At such a stressful time when emotions are on a roller coaster, the last thing a cancer patient needs is to worry about bills piling up.

Although Jason is responding well to treatment, he is still not able to work and Kris continues to be there with him through it all.  While most of their medical bills are covered, they still need help covering their monthly bills.  Also, their beloved dog, Gizmo, needs special medication and they need dog and cat food, and all the other things that go along with taking care of their four-legged members of the family.

We are firm believers in faith, first, we ask everyone to pray for healing for Jason and for his team of doctors and nurses. Second, please reach out to Jason with texts, calls or messages on Facebook with words of encouragement to let him know you are thinking of him and are praying for him. Lastly, if you able to assist financially, please do so either through this site, or by giving directly to Jason and Kris. Your donations will help with the monthly bills.  Please feel free to share this with your friends and family.

For those friends and family members who continue to help, we thank you for the bottom of our hearts.

Thank you.
