2 Years running

In 2010 I had an incredibly eye opening and rewarding 3 month backpacking journey through India. When travelling in the northern Himalayan regions I was very taken by the Buddhist communities and got to spend some time with an extended Buddhist family. They lead a very simple lifestyle and it rewarded me with a very rich experience. We moved frequently though and I didnt get to spend long enough there. I have often thought of returning to the Himalayas.

Now I've set myself that personal challenge and very soon this year I will visit Nepal as a volunteer photographer working on an aid programme with poor rural communities. This will be to help poor rural Nepalise communities establish themselves as host families to run rural home stays in villages around the Kaski district. I will be working as a photographer and helping in other ways to raise awareness for their new opportunity. It would mean a lot to me if you would consider making a donation no matter how small it is. I hope to raise a minimum of £1100 to cover base costs and anything over will go to the NGO in Nepal to aid their continuing campaign.

Costs will include: Campaign fee of $689 US (£429) accommodation, meals, local transportation, training, pre-departure support etc. Return flight to Kathmandu £680.

As part of the fundraising I have now launched a new website for my own photography and all sales from it until the end of this year will be added to this fund. There is a full ecommerce option added for smooth and safe transactions. You can view this at

I also hope to put on a short display and auction of framed photos in the next two weeks in Portrush for further fundraising. Details of this to follow
