WHEN WILL THIS STOP?
• There are 340 million Africans lacking access to safe drinking water
• There are 500 million without access to adequate sanitation
• Only 4% of Africa’s renewable water flows are stored compared to 70-90% in other development countries.
FOOD INSECURITY
• In 2008, there were 907 million hungry and food insecure people, worldwide.
• In Sub-Saharan Africa 1 out of 3 people or 236 million are chronically hungry. This hunger may be due to inability to afford food, fuel, or agricultural inputs including seeds, fertilizers, and transport of goods.
• Climate variability has increased the risks of food insecurity in all of Africa.
• In Africa, fewer than 5% of croplands are irrigated and in 25% of the worlds irrigated agricultural systems, the rates of water withdrawal exceed that of renewal.

WAI Africa Foundation recognizes that if we wait any longer for these problems to be solved by others, the world will drive the most deprived populations in Africa to extinction.
The WAI Africa Foundation will focus its efforts on three sectors (3) for the African continent, using access to clean water as the catalyst for the other two sectors: Agriculture and Industry.
You can assist WAI AFRICA FOUNDATION in several ways:
(1) Provide us with financial support;
(2) Provide us with your expertise and knowledge within the water, agriculture or industry sectors;
(3) Inform us of new technologies and applications that you may be getting to market or in product development;
(4) Support the generation of knowledge and educational outreach to help rural populations remain economically
competitive and prosperous as compared to their urban counterparts;
(5) Promote and protect land and water resources on behalf of the Foundation so as to help us sustain both for
future generations and the prosperity of the continent.
Every support provided will be acknowledged by our foundation and directed effectively towards reductions in both food and water insecurity. Please join us in helping to transform the lives of today’s rural Africans.
