I was a vet student at Virginia Tech on April 16, 2007, which was a date that will live on in my and our nation's memory. On that day, one angry individual with unhindered access to weapons designed only to take human lives killed thirty-two fellow Hokies, plus himself. It's a pattern that has repeated itself too many times, with the most recent violent episode occurring just recently in Newtown, CT where 20 young children were killed along with six of their teachers. We need to address this.

On April 16, 2013, I will run 33 laps around Jamaica Pond (~50 miles) to raise awareness and start a conversation about controlling gun violence in the United States. This isn't about guns, it's about the control of guns. Join me in supporting this cause, either by running with me in person, sponsoring a lap, by donating to the Brady Campaign, or by making your own pledge to challenges yourself to do 33 of something you never thought you could.
