America has a very long history with cursive handwriting beginning before our Nation's historic founding documents were conceived and written by hand - in cursive.

My name is Rand Nelson and I am currently president of Peterson Directed Handwriting, a company founded in 1908 by P. O. Peterson. Dr. Peterson realized the connection between rhythm and fluent legibility and developed a unique strategy for teaching that focused the student on learning rhythmic movements for letter-building. 

Business people serving on school boards soon found reason to pursue Dr. Peterson and convinced him to provide training in his techniques to the teachers in area schools.

Today, our schools rarely allow time for students to master automatic cursive handwriting.

I want to make it possible for anyone to learn how to use cursive handwriting as a tool for learning and communication. FREE videos on YouTube can teach short lessons and explain effective practice so a student can work toward mastery at his/her own pace. 

The "Learn Cursive Step-By-Step" video-lesson concept emerged last fall. The initial lessons have been well recieved and we need your help to continue production. Your donations will help to fund time for that production effort.
