The image above shows the original iron sculpture photo-shopped with the giclee #1/1 (Artist's Proof) now hanging in Churchill College, Cambridge University in the UK, and #2/10 hanging at the University of Peradeniya in Sri Lanka. This is part of the growing global awareness of the Salish Sea Bioregion.
Here are digital images which might be entered into the digital image competition.
Barbara Adams, Oak Bay Arts Laureate shows Mayor Nils Jensen the "Salish Sea".
Local photographer Britt Swoveland captures an image of the Salish Sea at subrise. It features the Salish Sea (both sculpture and ocean). Mount Baker can be seen on the horizon. If you are staying at the Oak Bay Beach Hotel, it is a 5 minute walk along the "seaside" to the Oak Bay Marina. This is a good place to take your SELFIE.
To enable easy participation, especially by young people, we encourage "selfies" taken by the Salish Sea sculpture:
- at the Oak Bay Marina
- by the giclee art piece in the Oak Bay Beach Hotel lobby
- ANYWHERE within the Salish Sea Marine Sanctuary (even at sea or in the mountains);.
We ask every participant to contribute a donation to our campaign although this is not mandatory
