Champagne was trapped and taken to Wateree Animal Hospital of Camden in severe distress. She had an emergency C-Section made necessary due to a breached kitten and three other necrotic kittens in the womb. Champagne was a new member of a feral cat colony that Dog4U, Inc.'s Cat Program manages through birth control, spay, neuter, foster and adoption. This year there have only been 3 kittens born, down from from an average of 25 to 30 kittens, so our program is working, Champagne made an appearance in a the last two weeks, having arrived already very pregnant but too smart and fearful to be trapped or caught. The kittens inside of her had died leading to infection and necessitating emergency surgery. She was so sick that catching her at that point was not much of an issue. Though none of her kittens were alive, Champagne now has a chance at a wonderful future and a forever home. She is is FIV/Feline Leukemia negative and now fully vaccinated. She has a long road to recovery in front of her and will be in foster care for a long time before she can be rehabilitated enough to find a forever home. Her initial bill at Wateree Animal Hospital of Camden has run over $700. We need your help to cover her expenses so that funding will still be available for our TNR program (Trap/Neuter/Release) and for our Cat Adoption Program. If we cannot raise the funds for Champagne we will have to cut back on the number of cats rescued this year. She is the second cat needing extensive surgery from the colony this year and our funds are desperately low. Dog4U, Inc. primarily concentrates on dog rescue but the kitties are equally important which is why the Cat Program was launched three years ago. Please consider donating or sharing today. Donations for Champagne can be called in to Wateree Animal Hospital directly at (803)432-9084 (http://watereeanimalhospital.com/), just mention the Dog4U, Inc. Cat Program account when calling. Donations can also be made through this Fundrazr. Donations are Tax Deductible, our Tax ID # is 20-5311280. Dog4U, Inc. is a volunteer run 501 c 3 non-profit. Thank you for your support!
