We are gathering contributions from the cousins toward a park bench to be dedicated in the memory of Louis Jones Bernard in the city of St. John's.

This site is a place for family to contribute and check on progress toward our goal!

The below program with the City of St. John's allows donors to contribute $750 for the dedication of a bench in one of the many parks maintained by the city.

The hope is to have the bench installed at Burma Road or possibly Willicot's Lane...we are awaiting word from the city on whether this location is an option. If it is not, the below locations are definitely available:

Mundy's Pond

Virginia River

Waterford River

Renny's River Walking Trail

Victoria Park

We would like to install two plaques on the bench, engraved as follows:

Plaque One

In Loving Memory of

Louis Elphage Wynn Jones Bernard

Plaque Two

When he shall die,

Take him and cut him out in little stars,

And he will make the face of heaven so fine

That all the world will be in love with night

And pay no worship to the garish sun.
